The best guide for sensitive skincare

Not all women are lucky with skin that easily tolerates daily washing, the use of any cosmetics, sun or frost. Sensitive skin always causes a lot of trouble and requires special treatment.

Best guide for sensitive skincare

Care for sensitive skin should be competent, but it cannot be called difficult. It is enough to adhere to the recommendations of cosmetologists and pay attention to the composition of cosmetics.

Classification of skin types

Everyone knows that this is the name of the skin, which reacts negatively to even mild irritants, such as a decrease in air temperature, too hard water, cosmetics containing certain components. Signs of a reaction are increased dryness, flaking, redness.

Sensitive Skin

Mostly, increased reactivity is a consequence of internal disturbances problems of sensitive skin appear.

Weak. Thin and dry from birth, mostly light. This is the type that cosmetologists consider sensitive in the full sense of the word.

Care principles

Regardless of the type, proper care for sensitive skin is to cleanse, moisturize and nourish it, as well as protect it. In addition, specific care is required – anti-aging, anti-cuprous, and so on. Care products for sensitive skin must be selected carefully. What should not be in them:

Alcohol

Alcohol always dries out the skin, making it even more sensitive, so all cleansers should be non-alcoholic.

Refined products

That is Vaseline or Vaseline oil. By themselves, these substances are not dangerous, but they create an airtight film on the skin, which hinders metabolic processes.

“Heavy” silicones. Such substances also form a film that retains moisture – this is a plus for dry skin. But silicones impede the “breathing” of cells, which also negatively affects the state of the epidermis.

Irritant components

These include abrasive particles in scrubs, high concentrations of fruit acids, even some herbal extracts.

Unfortunately, the characteristics of sensitive facial skin are such that it is impossible to predict in advance which component it will react to. And even cosmetics labeled “hypoallergenic” can cause a reaction. Therefore, each tonic or cream will have to be tested on yourself. However, by choosing high-quality cosmetics, a woman is better insured against troubles.

Cleansing

Basic home care always starts with cleansing, and the main rule is not to use too hot or cold water. You should wash your face only with warm water. Preferably not taped, it is too hard. The best option is mineral, spring water, or filtered water.

To remove dirt and makeup, you must use special milk. The cleansing of sensitive facial skin is completed with the use of a non-alcoholic tonic.

Moisturizing

To ensure adequate hydration of the sensitive skin of the face, special day creams are needed. Presence in the composition of light vegetable oils, dairy components, thermal water, hyaluronic acid is desirable. Aloe vera extract, allantoin, panthenol, and some plant extracts are good ingredients. It is also important that the cream contains UV filters, predominantly of mineral origin.

When it comes to moisturizing in winter, the cream should be denser and contain more fat. The best option is animal fats (goose, mink). Such substances not only moisturize and nourish the skin but also protect it from frost.

Nutrition

Mostly it is provided by night creams. Their composition is more saturated than daytime ones due to the increased content of vitamins and caring components. It is advisable to use a night cream from the same series as the day cream. If the skin reacts well to cosmetics, there is no need to change the brand – there is no need to experiment again.

Home masks

It is an essential component of proper skincare. Regular use of homemade masks made from natural ingredients provides no worse effect than salon treatments.

Ingredients

eggs – both white and yolk

fatty cottage cheese and sour cream

honey (in limited quantities, only in combination with other components)

fruits and vegetable such as cabbage

vegetable oils (almond, peach or grapeseed, jojoba, linseed)

green tea (infusion)

flaxseed infusion (can be used instead of moisturizer)

How to prepare and use

High temperatures are extremely undesirable for sensitive skin, therefore, it is worth abandoning the sauna or bath, and in summer, if possible, do not leave the room in the midst of the heat. Unfortunately, this advice is rarely used.

Peelings should be excluded from cosmetic procedures – only soft products with a low content of fruit acids or with poly oxyacids are allowed.

In the salon, the beautician can offer special procedures designed for sensitive skin types, but even in this case, it is necessary to conduct a test in advance – the reaction is individual for each.

This is the care of sensitive problem skin. It is not complicated, but it requires accuracy and attention.
